Grasping God’s Perfect Timing

We have moved…yes again.

I’m starting to feel like that family that everyone just puts on the backburner simply because they can’t keep up with us. I’m also confident in assuming that our Christmas card intake is going to decline at a rapid pace if we keep this moving thing up. Okay, I will stop with my pity party and give you the straight up facts. No, we didn’t move to another city. How could we leave the best suburb of Nashville? Franklin is the absolute perfect town for us.

For the past eight months we have actually been living with my mother.

Yep, you read that correct. Two grown adults in their late 20s with three kids moved into my mothers home.

This wasn’t a secret, or something that I was hiding from you all, it was just a piece of my life that I didn’t feel like shouting off the mountain tops. I wasn’t proud of the fact that our house search had us spinning in circles and that we didn’t have money spilling out of our pockets to just rent whatever property was on the internet.

Living with my mom in my childhood home was supposed to be temporary while we house searched. My ultimate goal was to stay there three months AT MOST.

I love my mom. But because we are so close, we have no filter towards each other and we can argue for days (or should I say months).

Eight months was seven months too long. What kept us there?

The rental market in Franklin is booming, rentals do not last long, especially those that are in our price range and the size that we need.

Zillow was my best friend during this time. I was on the site every hour, hitting the refresh button over and over, just hoping that “THE ONE” would appear. I sent 100’s of emails asking for tours, hoping that the property was available. We looked at countless homes, townhomes, and condos. There were many times that we could have settled but we knew God was up to something and the perfect home was coming our way.

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. It is seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3

In January, I prayed that God would give me word for the year. He revealed to me that my word would be TIMING. Remembering that Gods timing is everything. He had the perfect home already picked out, long before our search even started. The funniest part about my search is that “the one” was never even listed on the internet. Yep, like I said God was doing something.

I promise we do not live in the freaking Taj Mahal. It’s a modest condo that has little to no curb appeal but its perfect for my family.

If you find yourself in a situation that is less than perfect, remember that God is always up to something.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14
